WOW! I know that we serve an amazing God who answers prayer, but THIS seems too PERFECT! Larry has been praying that we would get our travel dates on Father's Day. I kept telling him He was crazy...but all the power to ya! I knew that it would take a miracle to get word that soon! (Our agency said that we would most likely get news no earlier than July 15th-Sept 15th)
BIG NEWS!!! WE ARE GOING TO VIETNAM!!! We leave Baton Rouge a week from today (Friday, June 22nd) to spend a couple days with Larry's family, then up to Detroit for a couple days to spend time with my family, then we are off to Vietnam on June 28th! We will arrive in Vietnam on June 30th and will officially receive our son on July 2nd. What an awesome independence day for him this year! God is freeing Eli, the captive, and giving him oil of gladness instead of mourning, a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair! (Isaiah 61:3)
We are soooo surprised to get to travel so soon...but we know that God CARES about all the details of our lives. Actually, the details are what baffle us sooo much.
1. First of all, in January we were told that the adoption process was beginning to take a lot longer than we thought...we would have to wait 15 months just to get a picture. This just wouldn't work with our plans to move to Mongolia in 2008. SO we fasted and prayed for 3 days. Less than an hour after breaking our fast, Children's Hope called and told us we were going to get a referral in a couple months!!! We were ecstatic!
2. So I prayed that we would get a referral on my birthday...which didn't seem possible with all the delays that were happening, but WE SERVE AN AWESOME GOD! We got the referral 2 days before my birthday. March 22nd "just so happens" to be Hien's birthday. The best part is that he was born into our hearts on his birthday!!!!
3. THEN THIS! Larry prays to get our travel dates on Father's Day...and we get our travel dates the last business day before Father's Day! Which is PERFECT TIMING!
* Larry's family drove down to visit TODAY and walked in our door just 30 minutes before we got the call! We all got to celebrate together!
* Averi is going to go back to Indiana with Grandma Linda, Grandpa Billy, Carol and Gus next week. We will pack and get everything ready for 4 days and head up to Indiana to pick up Averi and bring her up to Grandma Kim's near Detroit where we will fly out in
less than 2 weeks. How perfect!
GOD ANSWERS PRAYER!!!
I am absolutely sure that many prayers have been answered! I've heard a couple testimonies from friends and family members that the timing couldn't be more perfect for them as well!
* For one, Larry's Dad doesn't leave to Germany til August so he will definitely get to meet His grandson before he leaves!
* My brother, Nick, had vacation trips planned this summer and the dates fit perfectly in his schedule.
* My brother, Ethan, moves to Chicago August 1st. He will get to meet Eli before he leaves!
* My friends Chris, Karen and their kids (Averi's best buds) move back to Washington next week. Karen has been praying that Averi wouldn't have to wait too long to get her brother (being without companions near her age.) Averi will leave with Grandma and Grandpa THE SAME DAY that her friends are moving away!
PLEASE SEND US TESTIMONIES OF ANSWERED PRAYERS ABOUT ELI HIEN!!! WE LOOK FORWARD TO RECORDING ALL GOD'S GLORY!!!
