Eli fits into our family far better than we could have ever imagined or hoped for!!! I accidentally dropped a pair of Eli's underwear in the hallway of our apartment building a few days ago. Being the goofy Dad that Larry is, he put the underwear on his head and danced around as Eli pointed and laughed hysterically. The next day...like father like son!We are so amazed to think that God chose Eli specifically for us and us for him! The day that we received him from the orphanage the director told us that he was shy. What?!!? Our Eli shy? Maybe Hien was shy (his Vietnamese name, which means meek/gentle)...but Eli is not shy! I guess that comes from hanging out with his father!
I am reminded of the story of Abram and Sarai, unable to have children...THEN...as Abram hung out with The Father he BECAME LIKE THE FATHER. His name was changed to Abraham and he BECAME THE FATHER OF NATIONS!!!! Wow! Eli is also becoming like his father. As we hang out with the Father of Heaven and Earth we will also become LIKE HIM!
Praise the Lord for our awesome son and our awesome God! We are so thankful!
