Spring and Waiting!

First, I would like to thank all of you for praying for Averiana's teeth this last week! We were able to find a Dentist...PTL. Averi's tooth was in three pieces (possibly more because half of it was missing!) She is very tough...not only did the tooth not seem to bother her, but she went to the Dentist with little fear. She sat right in the chair showed the Dentist her tooth, took the shot, and got it pulled with great strength! What a Girl!

So, what have we been up to these days....LOVING SPRING! Well, that and waiting! Waiting to go to Africa, Waiting to move into our new home, Waiting to see Kazakhs come into the kingdom, Waiting for the Kazakh leadership team to find a place to meet, Waiting as we raise funds for new facilities, projects, and to find a new gym!

Our adoption is on hold because of many delays. Please PRAY that our agency can get in contact with the Orphanage Director to get more information and that the Govt. gives us the go ahead and court dates!

We will be purchasing an adobe home in the Kazakh district here in Hovd this month and we will move in June. Thank you for your generous giving to make this happen! The current occupants are moving to Kazakhstan so this is a win-win situation for the both of us. We were also kind of hoping to purchase a property right next to the house to build a gym or a sports park. Unfortunately, we just found out that this property and the one on the roadside next to it has been sold and will be the new location for a women's Mosque. I do wonder how they will feel about a shirtless tattooed guy doing pull-ups in the yard next to them though??? Anyways, this is a bummer! But an opportunity as well!

What can I say about Kazakhs in the Kingdom....ummm, that's kind of the point of everything we do, eh? Freezing, learning two languages, being away from family and friends, etc. No, I'm not whining, but keeping it real. I talk about a lot of things, but please know its for His will!

Buildings: Well, they are structures that keep us from getting to cold...lol! They are a tool to be used wisely. We hope to not only have a place to live, but a Kazakh Community Center as well a Gym.

The Center:
In short this would be a place for the teaching of Kazakh culture! A place for the Community's Leaders to get together and plan events and projects. A place for the baton to be passed on to the next generation.

The Gym:
The gym is exceeding my expectations in some ways, and its much harder in others. We meet at 7am, 8am, and again from 5-9pm. This is a huge time commitment! But, it is an amazing opportunity to be in people's lives! There are currently 4 Peace Corps Volunteers, 1 Russian Volunteer, 7 Kazakh women, and 20 guys coming on a regular basis to the gym Monday through Friday! (not bad for 144 sqft of gym space)
