Averiana's Baptism

"I am the love of the Lord's"Averiana was so excited to get baptized that she didn't even want to wait a minute! She kept persisting that she should get baptized before the service instead of after. You can see the gleam in her face as she waits for the glorious moment she had been telling everyone about for weeks (even strangers at Starbucks, of course!)

Notice Eli peering over the pool...When we told him Averiana was getting baptized he asked, "Averi...Eli...bathtub?" He was so curious about what was going on...he got so far over the edge I had to grab him because I thought he might fall in!
On May 4th, Averiana officially dedicated her life to serving the Lord by confessing her love for Jesus through baptism. The pastor at Troy 1st Christian Church (Larry’s family’s church in Indiana) came over a week beforehand to ask Averiana some questions. She said she wanted to get baptized because she is “the love of the Lord’s” and she wants everyone to see so they will want to get baptized too. She has been asking to get baptized for over a year now, but in BR we didn’t have a baptismal. All her practicing in the bathtub for the last year paid off! She was baptized like a pro! The best part was that the pastor asked Larry if he would like the honor of baptizing Averiana, so of course he said “Yes!” How very special!

Larry’s sister’s boyfriend, Ryan, also got baptized on the same day(you can kinda see him pictured above in the back room waiting for his turn), as well as a new member of the church who was around 50 years old. It was pretty awesome to watch a child, teen, and middle- aged adult get baptized on the same day. Just goes to show you can come to know the Lord at any age…never too early…never too late!
