Prayer Updates

My grandmother on my Dad's side passed away last Friday so we headed up to Michigan on Monday and spent an emotional couple days with my family. My Dad is getting through. My Grandma (Nana) told him she would give him a sign that she was okay on the other side and she followed through (however that works in the supernatural realm...angels?). He was in a dim room and saw two bright lights on either side of his wedding ring about a 1/2" in diameter. At the same time a small prop plane flew overhead (his Dad who passed away 30 years ago used to take my Dad and brother up in a small plane when they were young). He heard the plane go overhead a few times since then as well. He felt in his spirit immediately that the bright lights were his Dad and Mom together in heaven soaring on "Eagle's Wings" in the "Shadow of His Wings". Please pray for my Dad and my family as we continue to trust in Christ as we grieve and celebrate her new life with Christ.

Our time in Tennessee and North Carolina has been great. Lots of peaceful time of renewal for the kids and I. I went to a Counseling conference in TN and even met some missionaries who have spent time in Mongolia with Counseling background. I learned lots about Counseling in Asia/overseas environments. Then we spent some days rockclimbing, camping, and exploring in the Smoky Mountains. While Larry was in class in NC for 2 weeks we hung out at the campsite at a gem and gold mine. We spent lots of time swimming in the creek and searching for and finding many treasures.

Now that we are back in NC after traveling back from my Nana's funeral in MI, and dropping off the kiddos with Grandma Linda in Southern Indiana for the week, Larry and I are taking a class about Community Health Evangelism to give us insight about meeting people's needs wholistically in Mongolia. We are very thankful that we get a week of time together as a couple and the kids get lots of time with Grandma.

Please pray for us!
1. For my Dad and my family as we grieve and celebrate new life for my Nana in heaven.

2. For Eli and Averi being away from Mommy and Daddy for a week, and Mommy being away from Averi and Eli. Please pray that God would give me strength and grace to trust Him and not worry about them-especially Eli! Thankfully, God gave us lots of peace that Eli is in God's hands ...please pray for continual peace.

3. Our VW Vanagon is having a few minor difficulties (an easy, inexpensive fix)...that could potentially leave us stranded or paying a lot of money to haul it back to BR. Please pray that we find the part...(we are having trouble finding the right size pulley).

4. For our absorbing the class material and my emotional stability...that God would give me strength...He promises that he comforts those who mourn!

5. Our approval for Mongolia has been sent to the board and will be signed next week. Pray for everything to go God's way and for preparing our hearts and our family's hearts as we get ready to go next summer.

6. For Larry's Dad, Billy. He is traveling back from Germany this week. He was stationed there with the Air National Guard as a Chaplain's assistant to minister to wounded soldiers from Iraq for the last couple months.

7. For my brother, Nick, as he gets settled in to his new apartment right next door to ours in Baton Rouge! (Big smile and praises to God!) He started moving in a couple weeks ago and is headed back this week to make it official!

Thank you for praying for us! We are so thankful to literally be held up in prayer during tough times. We appreciate you!

P.S. We forgot the cord to download pics so I will post pics as soon as we get back to BR!
